How to Make Steamed Eggs (계란찜)


Ingredients for Steamed Eggs:
(계란찜: "geh-rahn-jjeem")

For this tutorial, we made two types of Steamed Eggs, one flavored with salted shrimp juice, and the other flavored with tuna. It is traditionally made with salted shrimp juice in Korea. However, we wanted to provide an alternative to those who are not familiar with salted shrimp juice (새우젓)

with Shrimp Juice:
(새우젓 계란찜: "seh-wooh-juht-geh-rahn-jjeem")

4 medium eggs
3/4 cups of water
2 green onions
2 tbsp. salted shrimp juice

Total prep time: 5 min .
Total cook time: 20 min.

-------------------------------------

with Tuna:
(참치 계란찜: "chahm-cheeh-geh-rahn-jjeem")

4 medium eggs
3/4 cups of water
2 green onions
pinch of salt
1/2 cup canned tuna

Total prep time: 5 min.
Total cook time: 25 min.
